Day 6: (Aitutaki- Motorbike Day/ Wendy and Tom flew back to LA)

So we have gotten into a lovely routine rather quickly. Swim some in the lagoon, swim in the pool, have a drink by the pool, check out hermit crabs, watch the ocean, read a little; you know, tough stuff. Once we got all that grueling work done, we decided to explore the island via motorbike. Wendy and I had never ridden one before which made some comical nail-biting moments, but we eventually got the hand of it. Like a mini biker gang, we cruised around the entire island showing people who’s boss. (Ok, we really rode no faster than the speed limit, didn’t wear bandanas, and prayed to God that Wendy and I wouldn’t crash into anything/anyone) Our limits were tested when we rode up the island’s only mountain for better view. With the rocky road and steep downhill, let’s just say we were grateful Tom and Mike were there to help.
Unfortunately, Tom and Wendy had to get back to the real world and got on the same tiny plane later that evening. It was such a wonderful trip and Mike and I are so grateful that we were able to share this time with Tom and Wendy. Have we found a new tropical destination for the Stiegs to vacation? We hope so!
That afternoon, we enjoyed one more night at Etu Moana (our favorite place) before moving across the island to the lagoon side the next day.
