Right now, we are on the east coast of the north island of New Zealand. It's got the best wine in the country and yesterday, we went on a wine tour of 7 wineries.... on a bike! Through vineyards and olive groves, bright green rolling hills, racing horses in the pasture, cows, and sheep, it was just relaxingly lovely. Plus there were no hills. Bonus! This was the day that I decided that there are sauvignon blanc that I do enjoy… not all of them, but there were some rather refreshing tastes. I can’t explain how fun it was to right in between the olive trees and grape vines. I really just couldn’t stop smiling. Oh, and did I tell you we biked past some emus with babies in tow??
Napier also has a nice short walking tour around it’s “art deco” filled town. We enjoyed a part of the day, floating in and out of old book stores, watching the waves, and finding anything we could label as art deco.
