Seoul, Korea

We didn’t have much time in Korea, really just 1 full day, but we still made the best of it. Most of our short stay here was spent doing errands on the base. We went to a shopping district at night called Meong-Dong. It had all the lights and glitz of a street in Japan, but it didn’t quite have the glamour. It wasn’t bad, it was just different. There were more venders along the street, selling tasty treats, scarves, shoes, and octopuses and just as much life to it! We were also able to check out Itaewon and partake of some bulgogi, bibimbap, and some dangerous Soju. A little snow came down and it made the city seem almost picturesque for those few flurry filled minutes.

Our favorite part of Korea was getting to watch a live concert of traditional Korean music. It reminded us of the instrumental demonstration we saw in the Tokyo-Edo Museum, but it had its own twist. The women were so graceful and the music they made was distinctive and beautiful.

As soon as we arrived, it felt like we were back on the place to Beijing. So off we go!
