Erawan, about three hours northwest of Bangkok, has a beautiful seven-tiered waterfall. Now one of the things we absolutely love to do is swim around in waterfalls, and this was just the place! Instead of traveling into the park from Kanchanaburi, we decided to stay in the park. Let me tell you, we loved staying in the park. We were in no rush, so we were able to have some parts of the park to ourselves. We were certainly one of the first folks on the trail. We also liked the little restaurants in the park. They weren’t afraid to add the spice! Whew! Our favorite part, however, was a waterfall which was also a local favorite. We slid, jumped, dove, and generally played. At the end of the day, we were the only farangs there, and we enjoyed laughing and playing with the locals. They would slide down, and then we would slide down. We would clap if they did something cool and they would do the same if we did something cool. Not a lot of words were spoken, but a heck of a lot of good cheer was exchanged. A pretty great day, I’d say.
