Mt. Cook/ Twizel, South Island

Today, we picked up our new campervan! We call her Paris. This thing is awesome! It has a real bed which can be converted to a table. It also has a refrigerator, sink, stove and plenty of storage room. We couldn’t believe it! We are now living in the lap of luxury. It’s a manual so Mike is the only one that can drive (I don’t mind a bit). I gotta tell ya, it’s been pretty nice to have our own transportation while in New Zealand. The drivers are sane and we have enjoyed being able to go exactly where we want to go.
For Christmas, we were at Mt. Cook. Before we went up there, we gave each other a $20 spending limit in this 1 store and bought little cheezy presents for each other. Then on Christmas morning, we made a nice breakfast then opened our presents. He got me a little paint set and I got him a NZ All Blacks towel. Plus some other little stuff. Then we took some cool walks around some glaciers and made a nice Christmas dinner complete with steak, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and corn. It was the closest we could get... We also stayed in our pajamas most of the day and read our books. It was a really nice day.
